Scalp Ringworm

If you have ringworm on your scalp, you REALLY need to get to a doctor, namely a dermatologist.  You can treat a few spots of ringworm on your arms or legs with Lamisil and tree tree oil BUT ringworm on the scalp needs to be seen by a doctor.  Sometimes, ringworm creams like Lamisil do not always work on the scalp.  It is very difficult to treat ringworm on the scalp.  Your doctor may prescribe you Lamisil pills.  This is used in a lot of cases where the ringworm is either on the scalp or over the entire body.  However, you must check with a doctor before taking Lamisil pills as they are only available by prescription.  Make sure you tell your doctor your entire medical history because there are certain side effects associated with this oral Lamisil.

Please note, scalp ringworm can create bald spots on your head.  Sometimes, the hair never grows back in those particular spots.  If you have scalp ringworm, PLEASE get to a doctor right away.
