What is Ringworm?

Ringworm is not a worm.  It's actually a highly contagious skin fungus.  They call it ringworm because it is circular in shape.  Ringworm's scientific medical name is Tinea Corporis.  This infection causes severe bouts of intense burning itching.  In addition, it causes hair loss in the direct area of inflammation.  Ringworm can often be mistaken for winter dry skin.  I made that mistake and actually spread the skin fungus all over my body with lotion.  This was a BIG mistake.
